| ![]() Had Max neutered 7 days ago.The vet made him wear a cone,he went back to the vet today for his check up after the surgery, and, the vet said it was ok to take the cone off as long as he doesn't start REALLY scratching and licking his surgery spot. What do you guys think? How long did you wait before you took the cone off?Think it's ok for him to sleep through the night without the cone? How much longer do you think he should wear the cone? Thanks. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | ![]() We didn't use a cone at all and haven't had any issues with licking. I would take it off and just watch Max. Isn't he close to getting his stitches out soon? Rhett's come out Saturday.

| ![]() I'd see if he bothers the incision without the collar if he doesn't no worries... I'd leave it off. If he does, maybe anytime you can't supervise him keep the cone on.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | ![]() They could have used the liquid sutures for the external incision - it's almost like a super glue. I'm glad it's not bothering him.

| ![]() We didn't use a cone at all. I just kept a close eye on him, he didn't lick much and when he tried, I stopped him.
