| Pre-anestheic panel? Bailey is going for a dental next week and his vet wants him to have lab work done first; BUN (kidney), Glucose, ALT, ALKP (both liver), Total Protein and Creatinine (kidney). He had this done in Nov. 08 and everything was fine so is all of this necessary now? He will also have a Bordetella vaccine and they want to give him Capstar (complimentary)! He's on monthly flea preventive and has never had fleas.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I've had that panel done before every surgerical procedure and also have it done during annual exams. It's a good way to see how well their bodies are functioning...prior to any symptoms.

| Yes, this is a good thing. My Vet does them too. I think if anything is off...your vet can say to wait on it. Much like when a person has surgery....we get blood work done to make sure all is well before every surgery. Eventhough it's just for dental....he'll still be under.

| Thanks to all of you. I just wasn't sure if it was needed for a dental. I feel better now but still dread for him to go under but I know it's a must have. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers that all goes well.
