| Question about food & poop (sorry) So I started Calvin & Bella on the Wellness for Puppy food. Calvin seems to be doing great. His poops are firm, small and not stinky at all. On the other hand Bella's are loose (not runny), big and she can clear a room. Its only been about 3 weeks. Should I give it some more time to see if she just needs more time to get used to it or should I try something else. Do I keep Calvin on it and just switch her? Feeding time is hard because she is like a hoover vaccum and he eats very little. I am so confused. Last edited by morkiecalvin; 08-05-2010 at 09:22 AM. |

| It could be that the food doesn't agree with Bella, or it could be that because she is eating too fast, she is not chewing her food adequately. She may also be eating more than she needs. Overeating and not chewing can cause looser stools. My boys are now eating two different foods because they have different needs. |

| I've seen eating too fast causing loose stools. One of mine will just scarf everything down as fast as possible if she is out with the group. If I put her in a seperate area or a crate with her food dish, she takes her time and chews her food Do you feed them together? Have you tried seperating her during feeding time so she can eat by herself?

| Thank you for your replies. I do feed them together. I call Bella hoover because she eats so fast and just yesterday she threw up and I noticed that her food wasnt chewed. Calvin barely eats so I try to leave food out so that he will eat when he wants. He is so skinny (not that you can see his ribs or anything) and she is just as round as can be. I probably give them about a half a cup in the morning together and at night I will add a little more if needed. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | wishbone eats really fast too so to slow him down we had to put CLEAN med-large rocks in his bowl...big enough so he cant eat them but still able to move them with his nose to get his kibble.. This help ALOT!! they also sell special bowl for this too but the rocks worked TONS better..
