| Poor Scruffy. Be patient but firm with him. He'll know he's safe. I kind of wonder....if you gave him a new name...maybe he won't associate it with hurt. Any thoughts?

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | I am so very glad "Scruffy" has a new life, with you....EXCELLENT idea! And, look the names up, to make it a positive one! Something that means "strong and brave", or "much loved", or "inspiration", so that each time you call him, those qualities are being reinforced. Names are much more important (even for dogs) than most people think.

| My daughter and I are tryin to come up with a name for him but he is very use to Scruffy. We both say he looks like a Bear but he doesnt respond to that..We are tryin to let him pick a name.We figure if we say one he likes he will come and give us his smile. =) |

| I am so glad that Scruffy is part of your family now! I cannot imagine what he has gone through....poor little thing. Glad to hear that his heart is well. However, sorry to hear that he has endured such abuse. Thank goodness you found it in your heart to bring him into your family. I am sure with love, kindness, and training he will come around.....also I love the idea of giving him a new name as well. That might be the signal for his new life to begin. |
