| Wellness is a great brand - they have recently undergone a massive expansion and their products will now be sold at Petco. Be wary of your purchases during this expansion as it may mean hiccups in quality control For more info on the expansion, go here: Healthy Dog Food for the Masses! | CupOFdog | Dog Site for Dog People

Call me paranoid but thanks for the info if petco is carrying it now my babies will no longer eat it. Just like the solid, it was only being sold in natural food stores and small mom and pop stores because it wasn't mass produced, now you can find solid in almost any pet store, NO GOOD!!! | |

| I really like wellness too, I think if enough wellness buyers complain they might change their minds I mean I would hate to lost customers, especially loyal customers just because one store wants to carry my brand but then again, companies like that never stay around too long they are all looking to expand and once they do that, the care and love they put into their products go out the door once they start seeing the really big bucks then all that matters is money. |

Anyway, there are some fabulous dry foods available still - the mom and pop dog shop I used to work for has phased out Merrick and Wellness b/c of the company's expansion, however, they are carrying Ziwi Peak which seems very good, Orijen which I love, and California Naturals. There is a chance that after the hiccups of the expansion are past, Wellness will the same quality. Maybe I am being naive to think that...

| Although an expansion can mean a decrease in quality, that is a judgement call made by the company and I don't think that Wellness will go that route. You can be a large manufacturer and still be very strick on quality control. If I did think they were that kind of company I wouldn't feed it even without an expansion. We won't switch unless an issue arises.

| I agree - both Wellness and Halo have expanded to be sold at Petsmart and Petco. It is in the brand's best interest to maintain quality control because any recalls would now be on a grander scale. I am very hopeful that the expansion of these brands simply means that more people will have access to high quality dog kibble and more dogs can benefit from Wellness' and Halo's nutrition. Here is to lots of hope!!

Honestly, I don't think any kibble is good. That doesn't mean I'd never feed it but when the CDC says to wash your hands after touching it (and this is not the raw diet), I think something needs to change. Just a thought.

I guess my hope about the Halo/Wellness expansion is that there are pet owners that will never do non-kibble diets. I don't judge - but I am happy that there are more options for kibble feeders to do better then Science Dirt or Pedigree....
