| Flea Treatment I have now given up on trying different flea treatments, I showed my husband last night what happens when I flea Buddy, I tried a different brand again, put it in the correct place and tried to calm him down, but no, he shot out of the room, hid in a corner, I tried to go to him, he shot off again and hid in another corner, after half an hour my husband told me to wash it off him, I showered and dried him and he was back to his normal self. Does anyone else have this problem, before now I have put it on him at dinner and gone to work, 3 hours later when I have returned he still wont come near me or play, but hides in a corner, totally puzzelled.

| Is it possible for your husband to help you hold your little one while you're trying to apply it? Good luck!

| I have tried frontline and bob smart, I have no problem at all putting it on him, it when it on him he turns very strange, he runs all over the house into corners (not banging himself) but to try and hide from what I have put on him, he wont come near me or let me pick him up, the only way to calm him down is to wash it off, the minute it is washed off he is back to normal and will let me pick him up, its very strange indeed

| Flea Treatment I have the same problem with two of my babies. My little Jacky runs around and hides after I put it on her and so does her sister Sadie. I did not use front line for a year because I thought it was just them, Well I put it on them again about a week ago and the same thing happened. The vet said that they can not use it any more that it stings there skin. It also has been know to cause other medical problems in dogs and cats. I will not use it again. I just use capstar one time. If I see a flea. Which I don't have any problems with. Capstar is the greatest,1 pill and within 30 min all fleas are dead.Tonights news had a clip about frontline how some animals are dying from it. | I gave up on Frontline Plus myself, because it didn't work well. I'd see fleas again within a week. K9 Advantix was a little better, but seemed to make a few of my dogs lethargic after. Recently I tried Comfortis pill (it's like Capstar but lasts 30 days or more), and I haven't seen any fleas at all in over 6 weeks. So far I really like that, and I am not going to re-dose until I see fleas.

| I'm told that when flea control is applied to the skin, it gives the pups a creepy crawly feeling that they despise! When forced to use it, and I don't till absolutely necessary, I dose with Benadryl first, apply half of a capsule per dog, and immediately take pup in my lap and spend the next thirty minutes stroking and massaging to calm him. Sometimes, after relaxing, he'll drop off to sleep and things start improving. But it's a stressful time, caused by those little monsters, fleas! Just wish there was one topical product that wouldn't cause this reaction....better yet.......wish for no fleas! |
