| Ear going floppy during infection? We took 7 month old Nikko to the vet last week and he had an infection in the left ear. He was given an antibiotic injection (and acted like the vet was trying to kill him), oral antibiotics, a solution to clean his ears with twice a day and antibiotic ear ointment to be used twice a day. Now we're noticing that while it's still erect, his left ear is getting a little floppy . . . It flops when he walks and sometimes folds over. Has anyone had this happen? Do you know if it's permanent or will it go away once the infection is over? He is due for a haircut, so it could be the hair weighing it down a little (although it's really not that long, his ears were shaved a little over a month ago). Also, between the cleansing solution and ointment (which he is NOT cooperative with at all!) his ears and hair are pretty greasy. He'll be getting a bath later today, we're hoping that helps. TIA |

| Ears I think its natural - I read that the ears will flip flop until a year old which is when the cartlidge will strengthen. It was mentioned that the hair can weigh them down and is okay to trim them. |
