| What should do? I kind of inherited my Aunt's Yorkie when she passed away. She settled right in. She is already part of the family and my Lab just loves her as she him. My issue is this: She has been dx with a liver shunt. The doctor said she really needs surgery but we cold try meds. The price of the surgery is 1200-2000. I don't have the $$$ for the surgery. I am on medical leave myself so money don't come easy these days. My worrie is that the meds wont work and she could die. She is only 3 and has the potential for a long healthy life if surgery is done. Has anyone encountered this and will meds work for her? Thank You for any input. Eric |

| my little max was diagnosed with a liver shunt when a few months ago, had the surgery, and is doing great now. he is still on a special diet and meds...maybe for the rest of his life. it is my understanding that when its a liver shunt, surgery is the best way to go. maybe the vet could do some sort of payment plan for you so you don't have to pay it all at the same time. don't know if this help or not! good luck and keep us updated!!
