| Merrick Recall Merrick Pet Care Recalls Beef Filet Squares 10oz Bag (Item #60016 Lot # 10084TL7 Best By March 24, 2012) Because Of Possible Salmonella Health Risk This may be related to the letter that the FDA sent Merrick (posted by 107barney). This is what, the 5th (ish) recall for them???

This is just very upsetting. I used Merrick for a period of time and my dogs did well on it (when used in conjunction with home cooked). I stopped in favor of all home cooked. A friend of mine is using this food with great results for her furbutts too. I passed this info on to her but if it's not one company, it's another it seems. It just does not end with these dog food companies.

| Anyone ever hear anything else about this? PetFoodDirect.com has a great deal on Merrick foods and I was possibly gonna get some of their cans, but I searched and found this info.

| I fed merricks about a year and a half ago, but ended up switching to chicken soup for the pet lovers soul because merricks was so expensive and one of my girls is on a prescription food and it is very $$. Sick of this recall nonsense. Frightening and I wonder how it keeps happening. What is the other food just recalled for salomenella? I've started cutting down a little bit on the kibble and adding cooked shredded chicken to their meals and want to learn more about home cooking (even though I don't even cook for myself ).
