| Gucci is picky also and doesnt eat much either.I sometimes wonder the same.I guess you follow what the bag indicates. I think if they eat some they will be fine. Of course if you think he is thining and his gums are not pink I will check with your vet. How much does he eats? Gucci eats around 1/2 a cup twice a day. Sometimes she eats all ,others time some of it. I wish she will eat like others pups I see that wolfed their food down, not her. I have change her food so many times trying to enticer to eat but she just is not a eater, well she wants what i eat thou. Spoiled huh. |

| I'm not sure of your puppy's age or weight. Penny is almost 2 and weighs 7.5 pounds. She only eats 1/3 cup twice a day, maybe just a hint more. She loves her food, though. We recently switched her to prescription W/D dry food, and she thinks every meal is a treat! |

| I would keep an eye on him if his personality seems to be going flat, if his gums aren't pink and if he seems to be losing weight. Call & ask your vet though. The bag of food should tell you how much he should be getting daily. But some pups are pickier than others. Harley eats whenever he feels like it and eats differently every day. I used to have a fixed feeding time w/ a specific amount of food but he was so picky that I just started leaving a 1 cup of food in his dish all day long and if he finished it then I'd give him 1/2 a cup more and if he didn't I'd measure it out to see how much he did eat and save it for the next day. Hope this helps.

| Dollar He is 1.6 lbs and he is 3 months old. I am currently feeding him canned food and I would say he eats maybe a half a can? He just licks at it for a bit and then stops. He wont eat cottage chesse, baby food or dry food (which are all of the things that the breeder instructed me to feed him)???

| Go to petsmart and buy Nutracal it is a gel like substance that is full of sugar and vitamins. This will keep her from getting hypoglacimic. I would give a little in the morning and a little in the at night.

| Yea your baby is pretty small in size so I wouldn't expect him to eat much more than he is. Their little bellys aren't very big!

| Shelby *was* picky and I tried everything. If you haven't tried Nutro Lamb and Rice Kibble for puppies...try it. At first I would dip one piece at a time in nutracal to get her more interested. I was happy if I could get down 5 or 10 pieces. (petsmart offered free sample bags a while back) Another excellent quality food for picky pups is Natural Balance Meat rolls. great stuff, comes in trial sizes for 99 cents at Petco. you can chop it up for a meal or grate it on top of kibble. Canned food is fine for now (just to get some calories in them) but kibble is best. |
