My golden used to have chronic yeast infections of the ear. All commercial and Rx. tried over the years. He ended up developing allergic reactions and sensitivities from continued usage from most.

My Vet. started him on "blue brew" mixture of isopropyl alcohol, boric acid, and GentIan violet. After I started to use it his ear infection cleared like magic. He never had another ear infection. I would use it once a week as a preventive measure and after he went swimming.

Caprylic acid found in coconut oil is the best yeast fighter (kills candida yeast) responsible for ear infection. One of my Yorkies used to have on/off ear infections. Then I started cleaning her ears very gently with a teeny bit of coconut oil, and also gave her coconut oil orally. It's been years and no ear infection and NO funny doggie odor! You have to use the best oil with highest amounds of caprylic acid. I love CocoTherapy coconut oil.

I like naturals so i will try the coconut oil next time i need to use it.
The solution i suggested here never caused any reactions and clears it all like magic. I wish it could be found over the counter here , it would help some people who have to deal with infections of the ears.
