| Gummy Bears My boy Harry loves Gummy Bears and will respond to any command if a gummy bear is his treat. Any of you think these things might be bad for him? I use the small ones. |

| Candy in general isn't good for them (although a gummy bear without artificeal sweetener probably won't do any harm occasionally). How about fruit or vegetables instead? No grapes of course... Banana, berries, green beans (no salt), lettuce, beill pepper, apple bits?

| Carrots...don't forget carrots. My girls will do just about anything for a carrot bite. |

I wouldn't use Gummy Bears for treats. Like Ellie May said, I'm sure a few now and then wouldn't hurt them, but if you are training them, you typically end up using a lot of treats. I like Cheerios for something small, but I usually get Jackson the Zuke's Mini Naturals because they are small, soft and perfect for trick training -- low in calories and fat. You can get them at Petco. I also use real chicken and bits of cheese.

Ellie loves bananas so much. She thinks it's her right to have a piece of every one that gets peeled around here. But she doesn't like them overripe. Oy.

| I've tried giving him bananas a few times, and he looks at me as if I'm nuts!

| no gummy bears - dogs do not get cavities in their teeth as they do not eat sugar so no sugar You can cook organic chicken breast chop it up in small pieces and treat with that - If no health issues or allergies that is but most dogs love chicken |

| Boy I wish I could give Roxie fruits, vegetables, or chicken! I've tried apple pieces and she threw up. I've tried carrot pieces and she threw up. I've tried plain chicken and...you guessed it...she threw up. She does really love peanut butter, and doesn't throw up from it. Go figure.
