When to expect growth? Hey guys! I have a question. I have a almost 16 week old baby and she hasn't done much growing since I got her a month ago. She is still very tiny and weighing in around 1.8 pounds. My friend got a yorkie right before I did and her little girl has already doubled in size. My question is, when do I need to expect my little baby to grow? Will she have one huge growth spurt? Her hair is def. growing but her body is staying very tiny!!!! She's the runt of the litter and was quite smaller than her siblings.

Who knows, their like anything else, they grow when they grow. Just give her some time, she may be a slow grower or she may do the growth spurt thing. You can't judge her based on another dogs growth pattern, any more than you can with children. They all do things a different times, in different ways.

A more experienced breeder or owner can probably give you better advice but of my two puppies, Bandit was a runt and grew very slowly, while Nala packed on the pounds at a nice steady rate. Bandit hit a spurt and gained about a pound and a half in a little more than 2 months I think around 6 months. He was also very sick and malnourished when we got him which may be why he grew the way he did. They were within two ounces of each other when we got them and Nala is almost 6 pounds and Bandit is about 4 1/2 (they are the same height, just very different builds lol) What food are you feeding your pup?
