| In my opinion, Embrace and Petplan are two of the best pet insurance companies out there. They both offer coverage for genetic conditions (as long as they are not pre-existing at the time of coverage) and this is something most insurance won't cover. This thread talks a little more about difference between the two companies, but I don't think you could go wrong with either one. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...insurance.html

| I have VPI but they don't cover genetic conditions so maybe I should go with one of these other companies. I do recommend some kind of coverage.

| Pet Insurance I checked out 5 companies and signed up with Trupanion. They cover genetic and congenital diseases and do not raise the premium as the dog ages. You can choose your deductible. Cherie |

| Don't base your decision solely on whether or not genetic conditions are covered. Take a look at the the complete package-what's covered, what it costs, the company's reputation for service, etc. I have Pets Best Insurance (www.petsbest.com) for my yorkie, and have been very happy with them. I haven't had to file many claims, but the ones I have were all covered, and I received the check in 4 days. |

| I think thats great that you are thinking about getting pet insurance! I have pet insurance with Trupanion and I really like their customer service! You should definitely take a look at their website! I noticed that they redid their website so there is a ton of useful information! You should do a free quote and see if you like their policy or not! Here is a part of their website where you can compare all the companies: VPI vs. Trupanion > Compare Pet Insurance Companies | Trupanion Pet Insurance |

| Pet Insurance Thanks for your input. I did buy Trupanion. It seems like an excellent insurance. Cherie |
