| What kind of toothpaste so you use?? What about PetzLife? I was reading how important is dental care for our babies and I was looking for a good toothpaste. Also, someone mention PetzLife but there are different kind and I got confused because there is a spray, gel and a gel/ salmon oil combo?? but do not specify what is it for.. can someone explain this for me? What toothpaste do you use??? Thank you |

| I have been using petzlife on Buddy for several years now and it does wonder's for the teeth. I use the spay, however, I have read some small pups are frightened of the spitz noise it makes. If you start when they are small they get use to it. Some prefer the gel. Both get used the same way. It get's used before bedtime, no food or water after it is applied. If you have a puppy I would use it once a week to prevent tartar and brush daily if possible. I have always used four paws original toothpaste and brush at least 4 times a wk and use the petzlife once a week. One good spritz on each side of the mouth preferably towards the back of the mouth where the molars are. The siliva in the mouth spreads it throughout. If you have an older dog and the teeth are very discolored I would use 2-3 times weekly until you see the tartar coming off then go to once a week as maintenace brushing daily. It really does work. The directions are very easy to read and are in the box. It is worth every penny. Buddy is 6 now and has no tartar on his teeth at all. |

| Where do you get the Petzlife spray? I brush my baby's teeth about 4 times a week. Is the spray something additional that would benefit her? Thanks!

| i must ask you something!!!! what is your secret? i read in another post you wrote that you floss ellie may's teeth. how did you get to the point where she allows you to floss her teeth? after reading your post, i started brushing milu's teeth. i thought if you can floss ellie may's teeth, the least i can do is brush milu's teeth. i was able to brush her front teeth(was very surprised she lets me), but i don't know how to get to her teeth in the back, she clenches her mouth shut when i brush, how to get her to open her mouth? and the baby toothbrush is still too big for her mouth i think, it's really hard to brush with that. thanks so much!!!!

It's difficutl with regular floss. I like to use the individual flossers with the plastic handle (disposable...come about 100 to a pkg.). I just do the best she will let me do. Ellie resists too. I put the brush in the side of her mouth (in her cheek) to brush the outsides while she is not cooperating. Then I try to push the brush through and she really has to let me in. Then, hmmm, I guess I hold her kinda funny to do it (she has been really fighting me lately too). She goes on my lap on her back. I hold the top of her mouth open with one hand, brush with the other and the brush kinda holds the bottom lip open I think. I'll have to pay attention tonight. lol.
