Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | Cottage cheese & frozen green beans Would it hurt if i fed my furbutts 1 meal of the day with cottage cheese and frozen green beans mixed in with their kibbles or is that too much for them?

| I give my two about 6 small green beans (frozen) in their evening meal. I thaw them in the microwave and cut them up into kibble sized bites. It puts fiber in the diet and helps with poops. I started doing this because my Jada is a chow hound and she tends to gain weight very easily. I cut down her portion of kibble to the smallest recommended for her weight. I have never given cottage cheese but I do a teaspoon of yogurt for a morning snack and they love it.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Green beans? wow! well, i know my puppy eats all veg AND fruit! She loves apple and even steals Pommegranite from my parrot if she gets a chance! Last night she had mango (of all things!) because i was eating it. She loves peas and i give her a few every now and again. I try not to give her anything rich and I have become a believer in their pellets having everything they need in them...but they are also little creatures with a pallet for things they like so I dont see any harm in giving them the odd little thing. I'm going to try the green beans tonight because I'm sure she will love them! But surely the cottage cheese might be too rich for their tummies? Just a thought...

Senior Yorkie Talker | So just try a small bit and see how their tummies react to it I have never heard of cottage cheese for picky eaters...My little one eats like a cat! when she feels like it! If i put her food down in the morning it's still there in the evening and it's such a waste bcos by that stage it's soggy and she wants fresh crunchy pellets! maybe i should try the cottage cheese and see if she likes it?? Even tinned food makes her tummy run poor little thing! but the fruit and veg is fine for her so thanks, maybe i will try your ideas and i will let you know how she reacts to it

| Bailey loves frozen veggies, and he likes to eat them frozen too. Cottage cheese is okay in moderation I believe, I think it is best to have low fat, low salt free cottage cheese, someone correct me if I'm wrong

| I tried green beans and peas last night with Topper and boy did he spit them out fast!!! but he did eat broccoli...go figure. My feeling is that veggies and fruits have got to be better snacks than some of the commercial products out there with unidendifiable ingredients. Tammy & Topper |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I just tried feeding the 13 year old rescue/rehome cottage cheese yesterday as he is refusing to eat anything and he ate 1 bite and that was it. I will try the green beans today. I tried chicken last night and he wouldn't even eat that. Only thing I got him to eat was a slice of american cheese, which I am sure is not good for him. Hoepfully the beasn will work.

| I'm sure that'd be fine. I sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on Jackson's food for him some nights. He's never had green beans but he loves carrotts (but only if I throw them in the microwave for 10 seconds).

| green beans are potty treats and "come in the house" treats for my two...I buy the frozen ones, and steam them, just for about 5 minutes...Then when they go potty, and I want them to come in, I say "wanna a bean" or "potty treat", and they come running...lol...I'm sure the neighbors think I'm a lunatic, but, hey, who cares, the dogs come, when I call them...And if I don't say those things, they won' come in |

| I give Zeus cottage cheese added to his kibble if he gets bored and doesn't want to eat. He also gets it as a treat once in awhile. I did start buying the low fat or fat free so I don't add too much fat to his diet. |

| Molly has mixed veg with her kibble every meal. Its usually green beans, peas, carrots and peppers. She loves it all and does very nice solid poos...easy to pick up!
