| legg perthe disease...Help Pixie started limping on jan 28th. I took her to a vet near my new house as i had just moved and they though it could be a pulled muscle or luxating patella. I finally took her to see my regular vet on feb 11th because her leg was still lame and x-rays showed possible legg perthe disease. We repeated the x-ray on march 8th and we see that the damage is getting worse. The surgeon that will be doing the surgery if she needs one is a specialist. He seen the latest x-ray via email and wants to wait to do surgery after we do a 3rd x-ray in a couple of weeks. The specialist feels that the joint has not deteriated enough yet. My vet thinks we should go ahead and schedule the surgery with the specialist next week. I'm in agreement with him as Pixie already has atrophy on the right leg. It is half the size of the left. What should I do? |
