				   | The nose of my Yorkie is turning pink and she keeps on scratching it with her paws, or rubbing it on the floor. Is that the reason why its turning pink, or is it an allergy of some sort? I already consulted with the vet and she did a skin test on her nose which revealed nothing. And now when I look closely, there are some small flakes present. What could be the problem? Here is the pic: http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e307/wattocs/nose.jpg |

				   | Thanks, she is gorgeous ![]() She likes to scratch the back of her ear, her eyes, her nose and lick her feet. Her body seems perfectly normal, no flakes or anything... The vet checked for demodex on her nose which came back negative and prescribed her benadryl and antibiotic. I've been feeding her Royal Canin Sensitivity control for a month now as prescribed by the vet, and Science Diet Lamb & Rice before that, now I'm thinking of trying the Go! Natural Wild Salmon & Oatmeal to help determine where she's allergic to as its a one protein source dog food and they say it's for sensitive skin. |

				   | I'm sorry you're going through this. She's a beautiful little girl and I hope she feels better soon. It looks like she's rubbing the hair off there and that definately makes me think she has an allergy problem. I'm not familiar with anything like this but I do wish you the best of luck. I hope someone else here can offer better advice.

				   | Did you ever figure out the cause of this problem? I hope your girl is feeling better I'm asking because it seems like Remy may be having a similar problem. He is scratching alot around his nose and the skin is really pink in one little spot. I am thinking possibly a grain allergy? He gets Cherrios as treats - it the only grain he eats. Thought I'd try to compare notes |

| Donating YT 500 Club Member | Ruby's nose in the winter will sometimes have a pink spot but I've been told it's similar to leather ear and it always clears up when the weather gets warmer/drier. I was thinking it's more along the lines of a fungus as opposed to an allergy. I know moist/humid conditions can cause the same problem for some.
