| my puppy has severe dandruff! Has anyone ever had this problem? It's mostly on his back with a ton of flakes near his tail. I have added pieces of salmon as treats between his meals. I'm hoping it will help. |

| Mine have dry skin because of winter, but its not severe. I put a little bit of coconut oil them and it helps. With severe dandruff not for sure. Hopefully the oil you used will help.

| Puppy dandruff is not unusual in pups under a year old. You didn't mention the age. Shampoo with either a coal tar shampoo, Professional Pet Products also called PPP makes a good one, or you can try Head and Shoulders. Do it every couple of days for three shampoos. That should clear it up. |

| Hello, When I brought my Leilah home she was covered in dandruff. Before she came home I had read dozens of reviews and post on YT and made a list of the recommended shampoos. I decided on Tropiclean for puppies (amazon for like $14, its a big bottle too). After using it the very first time, her coat was silky smooth and dandruff free. **I heard you should never, ever, use human shampoo on pups. Not even baby shampoo, but then again lots of people do. I would recommend the tropiclean, it works wonders for my Leilah and it smells wonderful.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I have also used Head and Shoulders (recommended by my Vet) it that did work but to keep it you have to treat them from the inside that's why i use the salmon oil...But the head and shoulders is fine every once in while but not for all the time use..

| My Rucker also has severe dandruff. The vet told me it is a puppy thing, and told me to use Selsun Blue. That didn't work, so I am using something I picked up at the pet store. That STILL isn't working. I hope he eventually grows out of it.
