| Should I be concerned? Ginger was sleeping on her back on my lap today. I didn't notice when it appeared, but down in her hoo-ha, or puppy va-jay-jay, I noticed a red rash. She's fixed so she's not in heat. She's acting fine and doesn't seem like she's in pain. Should I take her in to the vet to have them look at it? What could cause this? Ginger is probably embarrassed!!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | It could be like a heat rash caused from heat/moisture. If it's a small area, I would probably try keeping it dry and look at it tomorrow before taking her in. If it's a large area, looks painful and she won't leave it alone, she should probably be checked by a vet.

| does she rub her belly on the carpet as my allergy dog will rub herself on things and then get that so i keep her off carpet - i took her in to vet had urine culture and analysis and nothing so we coned her to keep her from licking the area and she is fine now. If she is not licking it excessively and not having off peeing meaning peeing alot etc or straining to pee probably nothing. |
