By law you have to get a rabies vaccination every year, in order to comply with the licensing laws. In many areas, they do not even take into account that the rabies vacination is good for 3 years. It does not matter, you still have to get them every year. If you take your dog to day care or board them, they have to have recent vacinations.
So the change is going to have to start with the laws, and it will take heavy pressure from the breed clubs and the AKC to get the laws changed.
Humans do not require boosters every year, why should dogs. |
