Chews? Hi, I was wondering what everyone uses for chews? Like bones and such? I am afraid to give my puppy anything:confused: Ive heard bad things about greenies and dingo bones, i think pig ears make dogs mean and aren't very healthy. He is getting sick of me giving him his nylon bone, I even stick it in his treat canister - big whoop he barks at me Also got him a chilly bone, that you stick in the freezer after soaking it in water (was also going to try chicken broth). He loves his lamb, hes on wellness puppy and canned lamb & sweet potato. Any healthy chews? I don't mind watching him when he chews it to make sure he doesn't swallow a big piece... always a fear. |
I give Reesie bully sticks I get them from AMD here on YT. He loves them. Her website is westbrookdog.com. Here is a link to her website: Westbrook Dog- Pet & Show Dog I also just ordered some Heimalayan chews from Ryan here on YT. They are suppose to last longer than bully sticks. Here is a link to his thread on the chews: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...dog-chews.html The bully sticks are better for them than a bone because it is made out of bull tendon and they can digest them. The Heimalayan chews are made out of yaks and cows milk. It is actually an extremely hard cheese. Ryan said that the dogs have to work on the end of the bone for hours to soften it. I have not tried them yet, but as I said, I did just order some, so we will see. Hope this helps.:) |

:thumbup:I am curious about this too. I use a nylabone, but throw them away whenever they start to show wear. This may be 1 or 2 a month. My dad brought Maddie a pig ear (eeew) as a sweet gesture. I didn't want to hurt his feelings, taking over a "dog" is just not my dad and he was so excited about his gift. Anyway, Cooper took it and it was gone by the time my dad left, a couple of hours. I don't think Bully's or Heimalayan chews would last either. |

Bully Sticks from YT member AMD Himalayan Dog Chews from YT member RDB911 I've also recently started giving Ariel deer antler from Ziwi Peak. She loves em! |
Also use both bully sticks and Himalayan chews. Those are the only things he really chews & enjoys. Anything else I give him he just walks around the house with it crying trying to find a place to bury it, LOL, so I feel anything else bought is a waste of $$$$. |
Himalayan cheese stick (chew) and their Kong toy. |
Just ordered Himalayan chews...We'll see how it goes. I'll let you know.:) |
Animal (deer, elk, moose) antlers, himalayan chew, sweet potatoes, and bully sticks! |
We have Bully Sticks, Himalayan Dog Chews, and Antlers here. The bully sticks are the favorite, while the antlers don't hardly get touched. :p The Himalayan chews get gnawed on from time to time. :) |

Thanks everyone for your help! I have found the bully sticks in my local petco, so I didn't have to wait for an online order with delivery and all. We will see how Jack likes them. Ive also seen sweet potato chews, so may try them as well. I am unable to find the himalayan in stores near me though =( Im sure anything will help - Im trying to convince my mom to switch her dogs form the dingo bones (shes stubborn though...) |

The westbrook site is out of everything ?? I emailed them a few weeks ago regarding the shampoo and when they would restock and never got a reply. I called my vet to double check on the bully sticks and he actually told me they are not good puppies to digest (?). We will wait on the bully sticks then... I will have to order the himalayan. |
Thanks everyone for the GREAT feedback! These are the best chews! :) |
Thanks RDB911, your prices are very fair and with FREE SHIPPING too - same as their website (not sure if you own it or not). Cheaper than amazon and other places I looked. You're the best, Thanks! |

I wish I could say I was the owner and creator behind these treats but Im not :( |
funny how each is so different. My Maddie loves her bully sticks, but only the curly ones. And not every day. I ordered the Himalayan chews and she couldn't care less about them. Doesn't even like them enough to try to hide them. It just lays on the floor for me to step on. I finally just picked it up and put it away. Maybe in a few weeks she'll think it's something new and like it! I did find some smoked marrow bones at the supermarket. I scraped all the marrow out of the middle of the bone and she liked that pretty well... I guess it had just enough flavor for her to chew on. |
