| severe dry skin..dandruff?? I give Rucker a bath once a week in Selsun Blue (which is what the vet told me to bathe him in). He is not due for another bath until Friday. I am looking at his fur, and he has dandruff or severe dry skin....the flakes are awful! What in the world am I doing wrong? Should I take him to the vet? Help!!

| You should never use Selsun Blue on dogs.. Except on rare conditions.. Tar, Coal and sulphur based shampoos are designed to remove skin oils. Get yourself a bottle of Theraneem Also add some Grizzly Salmon Oil to his diet, the Essential Fatty Acids should help. You also might want to add some digestive enzymes (I use Great Life Enzymes Pro), it helps a lot with flaky skin. |

Even on humans, Selsum Blue used often can aggravate the conditions

| Trash the selsun blue. Isn't that stuff human shampoo? I'm using Splash & Shine. (www.yorkieshampoo.com) I'd cut back on bathing soooo much. |

| Holy moly. Why in the world would the vet tell me to use that stuff? Jeez. OK, I will take the advice and see what I can do for him. Thanks.
