Both my puppies are on wellness puppy mix and I would like to change. They both seem to have more gas issues on this food. Borping and farting and all sorts of unpleasent things coming out of their little bodies! I have read that sometimes yorkies can get intestinal problems because there are so many ingredients in the food and there stomachs can be fragile. The dogfoodanaylisis.com website is what made me switch to Wellness in the first place, but i noticed all their higher rated dog foods are very high in protein, and I read that a food with too much protein is not good for small dogs who aren't super active. All the info is so confusing, I am gonig to try Blue Buffalo if everyone is getting great results. Where can you buy it? |
My 3lb and 6lb yorkie puppies have had intestinal problems on Wellness as well. Lots of burping and farting  and loose stools. I read somewhere that smaller dogs and/or dogs who are nto crazy active shouldn't have foods that are too high in protein. Its hard because the website dogfoodanalysis.com rates food very high that have very high protein content so its confusing. I want to try Blue Buffalo, where can you buy it? |

You are too sunny...I saw that show.:D |
I switched from Blue Buffalo to Wellness puppy. My two are very picky, and I have tried a few different foods, and neither one of them gobble any foods up. Hand feed a couple of times a day. I wish I could find a food that they just LOVE!!!!!!!! |
Sasha was eating Blue Buffalo Wilderness for a little over 2 years and did wonderful on it. I absolutely love the company and everything about it. She has wonderful results eating the food. The only reason I changed was because I found a store that carries Acana locally and I really like Champion Pet Foods company as well. They're based in Canada and have never had recalls. Plus, Sasha did absolutely wonderful on Acana when I had her on it a few years ago. I still use Blue Buffalo's biscuits as Sasha loves all the different flavors. If for some reason the Acana doesn't work out or agree with Sasha this time, I will definitely put her back on Blue Buffalo Wilderness. |
Cesar has been eating Buffalo Blue puppy food since he was 9 months and he still loves it. And he also stopped with the runny BM's and going 5+ times per day to just a couple times per day. It's a great food. |

I feed Daisy Blue Buffalo. I think it's a really good food. I think Wellness is a good food too and I tried it on Daisy. She had the OPPOSITE reaction.........constipation. I stopped it immediately. It left her stools really hard and dry. The only time that has ever happened. |
I was feeding mine Blue Buff but now that they turned 7 yrs old I wanted to switch to Senior food and all they have is chicken in the senior food. Daisy has a bad reaction to chicken (itching) so now I am looking for a senior food that is not a chicken formula. |
Which Blue Buffalo are you all feeding??? They have 3-4 choices for Small Breed. Thanks! :) |
Hello...I'm fairly new here and to the Yorkie world. My Toby is soooo picky. I can't get him to eat Blue much. When he sees he is not getting any other food then he'll eat a little bit of blue but sometimes I have to hand feed him. I guess the problem is there are a variety of foods in our home...cat food, other dog's food--so he prefers the not so nutritional stuff!!! I have also bought him Ultramix which he also eats but just barely. He does however like the dried fruits and carrots that are in Ultramix! |
Yay! I'm a newbie and happened to start with Blue Buffalo. Sounds like it's a good one. I was worried that my little girl would have a hard time transitioning, but she LOVED it. In fact, I had to take it away from her because she was eating too much of it :) |
