Rabies shot = swollen lymph node??? Ok Katie had her rabies shot 3 days ago.She is 5 months old we waited for awhile hoping for her to gain some weight before getting it.She is now 2lbs 12 ounces.Today as i was playing with her I noticed a lump in her stomach very close to her back legs.I thought it might be a hernia so rushed her to see the vet he thinks it could be swollen lymph node and not a hernia.Just wondering if anyone has heard of rabies shot causing this? Anyone had this happen to there furbabies? Thank you in advance for your replies.

My yorkie had a blister pop up after her rabie shot. I took her to the vet and he just popped it. It was full of fluid.

My Maddie has had a bump/knot whatever after each of her rabies shot. It is always in the injection area. The vet tech said not to worry about it. She never acted like it bothered her and it just eventually went away. Probably about the size of half a pea or so. She weighs almost 7 lbs.

Thank you for sharing with me.They area has really decreased in size over the last few days.I believe it was a lymph node.I had done further research and this seems to happen alot in the small breeds.I quess it takes alot for the little ones to create antibodies to the rabies vaccine.

I have a 5 lb, 9 yr old male yorkie. He got a rabies shot and his neck lymph glands have been swollen for a week since that shot. I am mad at that vet for not using a rabies vaccine that would not have caused the problem. Maxi better not be permanently harmed. Dr Pitcairn has a homeopathic medicine that takes away reaction to the rabies vaccine. Does anyone have any experience with this. It is called. Lachesis.
