Donating YT 11K Club Member | Livi's ears smell I had wanted to tape Olivia's ears to help them stand up but as I was looking at them I noticed she has a lot of ear wax and they are smelly. They are also little red marks in them..I can't tape them like that. Her first vet appt is this week. Can this be an ear infection or ear mites?? What are the symptoms of ear mites?

| I am not sure what it could be....maybe just dirty. Are they too waxy for you to wipe clean? My Livi said to tell your Livi...GREAT name choice! |

| Both my york'sters have had a little yeast infection in their ears, and I thought, both times it was mites, and it wasn't....Apple had it, when I got her, and Buzz got it, after his first grooming...I treated Apple's ears for 7-10 days, about a year ago, and never have had any more issues...I started treating Buzz a week ago, and my vet said to be sure and treat his ears, when he is groomed, and they have to pull hair out of his ears |

| my eldest had this when I got him. They plucked his ears and gave me meds and he has been a ok ever since. Ella had a "yeast" infection and I feel like she still has it. I was only given ear cleaner (nothing medicinal in the ear cleaner) so I bought some Snook's ear remedy. I'll let you know how it goes. Ella's ears stink (not as bad as before but always have and I taped her ears to stand. when I first got her). |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | So how do u know if it's a yeast or ear infection? So..i cleaned the wax..it was kinda stuck to her hair in her ears. I used this ear cleaner that was given to me by the vet when teddy had an infection. There's still little red marks in her ears though :/

| aside from going to the vet ... I dunno ... some one told me once to get one of those yeast infection test kits for women (they are near the vagisil etc). But I'm 99% sure its a yeast infection (look up some pictures on google or something). Oh yeah the Snook's thing helps it smell better too. Today is Ella's first day on it so I'll tell you how it goes. |

| Forgive my ignorance, but dont the ears just stand up of their own accord? Do some really have to be taped? My Yorkie pups ears have always been up since I got him at 9 weeks. Perhaps I was fortunate. I had a skye terrier years ago and her ears went up of their own accord, but they didnt stand up straight away, after a month or so of leaving her mum, they started to go a little way up (pointing sideways), then we had an awkward week or two where one was up the other one wasnt, and eventually they both went up just like my Yorkies are now. |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | Yes some people have to help their ears go up, some take time but some wont go up at all.

| Just wanted to let you know that the Snook's ear drops worked. There is no goo and no odor. We are only on day 3 and I can look in her ears (with an otoscope<ear magnifier light thing) and see nothing but clean pink ears. If you would like I could send you a sample. Just PM me. |

| I actually just got rid of the extras I had. I used baby ones, which you can get at BabiesRUs. But I also have used one that I got from Petsmart in the "health" area. It is handle is merely a pen light with a magnifier and removable cone (whole thing is black). BE CAREFUL poking around in your babies ear. |
