I brought her back home that afternoon and she didn't even require any pain medication after she got home. Good luck.

| Lola was just spayed earlier this month, and I was also a nervous wreck with it. She's just over 4 pounds and had to have hernia repair and teeth extracted at the same time. She sailed through it all with no problems at all. I would suggest having pre-op bloodwork done for peace of mind. I'm sure your little one will do great - it's we mommies who have the tough time!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have never had a problem. Just make sure you to the pre-surgical blood work. I just had the pom I am fostering spayed at 4 months and 3 1/2 lbs (shelter controls this) and she did fine.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | The pre surgery blood work helps determine if their kidneys and liver are functioning normally and that they will be able to handle the anesthesia. I always have it done on mine just to be safe. I think it runs between 30-60 dollars.

| My girl has a mild liver issue and she has done just fine with isoflurane. There is an anesthesia thread in the YT Library. Bloodwork is important, IMO. I would not even consider skipping it for an elective surgery.

| All good vets require the pre-op blood work. Can you find another vet? Or talk to yours and ask that they do it.

| Apple did just fine w/her spay...She weighed, exactly, 5 lbs. when it was done, and was 12 months old...I had all the pre-op blood work done...They told me they actually have a vet tech hold the little patient, after surgery, 'till they are good and awake...I liked that |

| Sometimes a vet will have done bloodwork at a recent visit. Is it not possible that this is the case? Perhaps you had a recent visit for a check up or boarded? Maybe your vet took some blood wile talking to you. It doesn't take much time. I don't mean to sound like you don't know. I am saying it happens because it's not a formal event. On the other hand, sometimes it is just not done. |

| Mine goes in next Monday for her spay. I'm a little paranoid because a friend just lost a cat after spaying (but it's not the same vet!) I've used this vet many times for cats with no issues so hopefully Fergie will have an equally good outcome and be back to normal quickly. |
