How much should I be feeding my yorkie and when? Hey everyone, My yorkie is approx. 6 years old and weighs approx. 7.5 lbs. I know for a fact she needs to lose weight. My question is how much should I be feeding my dog, how many times per day, and at what times? She is currently eating Pedigree food wholesome recipe, with chicken, rice, and vegetable. It is all in the form of dog pebbles. If I don't feed her enough, she often times throws up a yellow slimy bile. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. PENNY8686

My girls eat a grain free all stages formula, Taste of the Wild, in the morning they each get 1/2 cup and in the evening they get 1/3 to 1/2 cup. Maddie is 2 and 1/2 years old and weighs around 11 lbs. Cooper is only 7 months old so she gets a bit more. Last edited by MaddiesMommie; 12-20-2009 at 10:59 AM.

I don't really like the brand Pedigree. I've said this before, personallly, I don't find grocery brand food have a high nutritional value. Try going to a pet store and see what they can recommend for you or maybe ask your vet. I really like the brand Orijen and Eagle pack the ingredients are extremely good and Coco LOVES it. I feed Coco about half a cup a day. I leave the food out and he eats during the day whenever he pleases, he's very picky...that's why I leave his food out for him. Good luck

Mine eat FROMM and I feed them both 1/4 cup each in the AM and PM... they are both slightly under 5 pounds. They are however both pretty active... if I am feeding extra treats at all, I will give a little less food.

Maddie is extremely picky and this is the only food we have tried she likes for more than a few days. We actually bought the bigger bag this time! LOL | |
