| fleas? How can I tell? Ralphie has been scratching his hind leg and and under his chin on a daily basis. His hair is so black that I can't see any fleas? I have combed him and haven't found anything? Should I assume they're fleas? Also...he still has another week until it will be a month from when we put his flea medication on his skin. What should I do? |

| If you hold him up so his belly is facing you . . .or stand him up on a counter, gently blow on his hair on his belly . . .or you can lift him up from behind with his front paws on the countertop and look underneath his tail and down his back legs . . .fleas generate to the warmer areas of the body. If you suspect fleas, you can always give him a bath with dawn liquid soap, that kills fleas fast. Also, you should wash any bedding or stuffed toys and if you have carpeting, it'll also have to be treated. When you use the flea meds, you can use half of the tube. I split the tube between my two because they weigh 5 1/4 pounds and 6 1/2 pounds.

| My puppy picked up fleas from a pet friendly hotel. I didn't even think of that--we live in a cold climate and had stopped frontline for the winter---then FLEAS. Yuck. |

| you can use a comb to part the hair behind his ears... sometimes you will see them run away from the parted area. You can also brush him and see if any flea dirt is coming off. If your not sure wash him in DAWN dish soap... it will kill any fleas and is gentle enough not to harm him either way! Good Luck |
