YT 2000 Club Member | All I can say... is UGH!!! My dogs enjoy the Acana food, eat it, seem to be doing ok on it,so all is good but one thing... thier energy level went from running around the house a few times a day, playing, chasing each other to literally being BLOBS. Sleeping the majority of the day. Even my crazy Tucker man who LOVES to cause trouble has become a couch potatoe. So Im a little concerned. They have been only on this food around 2 weeks (maybe even less, 10 days? Ive lost count ) Is this common with grain free foods? I know when they were on TOTW last year that didnt lay around like this soooo...do I give it some more time and keep them on it?? I love that they are on grain free, they like the food I really dont want to swtich agian, but I dont know if I like them laying around all the time. I dont know what too do.... like I said before UGH....

| Are you sure it's the food? I've never had any issues with the grainfree and sleeping too much.

| I just bought Acana for Max today. He has been on Orijen. From what I understand, Acana has about 10% less protein than Orijen. Maybe that has something to do with it? Anyhow, Max sniffed the Acana and now won't eat it. Ugggh...

| I would just take them out more -- do you have a backyard or a park nearby? Jackson's always been fairly mellow while just chilling in the house even before grain-free foods but once I get him goin' outside (i.e. chasing him, running with him, etc) or take him to the dog park, he's a crazy nut with so much energy! That's how pretty much every dog I've seen is, so I think it's pretty normal for them to be chill around the house.

I had them on Merricks (not thier grain free) which I think is around 24 percent. I switched them to the acana because I think a few of the issues they were having were related to grains in thier diets. I choose Acana because it is considerably less in protien, but Im know thinking they may need more carbs?? They like the Acana and other than having no energy, they are doing well on it (small poops etc.) and I really dont want to switch agian. Im going to continue to feed it and see if thier energy levels pick up, maybe their bodies need some more time to adjust. Im sorry that your pup wont touch it..

Tucker has never been the type of dog that just chills, lol he has been crazy since the day I got him. That is what I love the most about his personality his craziness. My toy poodle is very laid back but when the two of them get going they are nuts. Anyways, Yes I take them out for walks, run in the yard etc..(no dog parks, i dont have one in my area) but they dont have that "spunk" anymore. Im not going to take them off the Acana, its a good food, they like it and IM not willing to change them again. IM just gonna wait and see what happens.

| Oh no, how strange that it's happening that way. Has the weather changed in your area recently? That could have something to do with it. I also would wait and see. I can't say I noticed a chnage like that b/c Snick had his LP surgery right after we switched. I hope they are back to normal chaos soon. Snick & Viv
