| I totally think it is okay as long as you have taken him to the vet for a general check up. If the vet says he's healthy then it is perfectly normal. It is normal when dogs are older to sleep more. I had a schnauzer for 15 years, and the last 6 years or so she slept a lot. They just don't have as much energy anymore. I would just take him to a vet of your choice to check him out. I know where ever you rescued him from had a good vet, but just to get a second opinion. I wouldn't really worry though he's just relaxing =). |

| What is your definition of "sleeping a lot". I think dog's at any age sleep a lot, especially puppies. How does your Sr. Yorkie act when awake? Is he eating well? Does he like toys? Does he seem lathargic? I know in another thread you posted that he is having some teeth problems. Does he seem ill to you? Maybe have an infection from his bad teeth? So many of us I think might have a different definition of "sleeping a lot". So, maybe how many hours a day is he sleeping and is he sleeping all night long is my question about your little guy.

| My Sandy sleeps ALL the time. She's older too. My vet says it's normal and as long as she has interest in you and food she should be fine. She'll play for maybe 10 minutes then need a nap very soon after that

| He has been eating very well except for today. He got his rabies shot last night and is on an antibiotic for his teeth. Last night he ate almost a can of dog food and some yogurt. But today nothing. I heard his stomach rumbling last night.
