| Bully or Spizzle Stick? Before I got Buzz, Apple's little bro, bully sticks weren't an issue around our house...Apple got one, and chewed it, when she felt like it, and eventually, I threw it away, because it just looked too ratty....Now that the little bro is here, a bully stick is major issue!! I'm going through them, like hotcakes, and need to buy them, in bulk, because they're expensive...I was just wondering if Spizzle Sticks (by Merricks) last as long as their bully sticks...The spizzles are odorless, but mainly, they're .50 cheaper lol...I'm not bothered by the smell of bullies, because, after all, "it's all about Apple & Buzz" |

| I haven't heard of spizzle sticks. If you try them, I'd like to know what you think. I really need to find something that lasts longer than bully sticks. I'm planning to order some Himalayan chews next week and see if my gang likes those.

| I buy the big bully sticks, maybe 2 feet long. My DH cuts them into about 6" pieces. Because they are thicker, the kidz don't chew them up in one day. Sophie is my big bully stick lover & she'll have one for 3 days.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Just to double check...you haven't been getting the "steer sticks" by mistake, have you? Nowadays, some "bully" sticks are actually steer sticks, but you have to read the fine print to really find out, and it's a pain - the steer sticks are much thinner than the genuine bullies. As an aside - I like Bullies for Wylie who is a super aggressive chewer, but I actually like Steers for Marcel who is 3lbs and has a very tiny mouth, for whatever that's worth.

| I get our bullies from AMD (westbrookdog) as well. They love them and they don't smell and they last awhile. I just got my 12" sticks and it so funny to see them carting them around. lol I had intended to cut them down, but they aren't having a problem with them. I just ordered and am waiting for Himalyan Chews from "RDB911". I had never heard of them and wanted to try them. Mine didn't care for the deer antlers too, too much. They will chew them in a pinch, lol. I am not sure if I got a good brand one or what on the antlers.

| I just recently bought a bag of chews for $22 from Red Barn company in the store so Jackson won't be needing any new chews for a while (of course, he decides he doesn't like half the things in it!) but his favorite are the 12 inch bully sticks I buy from Pet Valu. They're only like $1.99 for the 12 inchers and I always try to pick out the thicker ones so they last longer... he's had one last for 7 days and he's a big chewer and a bigger boy. I purchased from AMD and while I loved that they had no smell.. he went thru them sooo fast. I'll order from them again but I'll have to get the thicker ones.

Okay, first, I'd recommend you try a few from AMD - she is such a great seller and her Bullies don't smell, which is SO nice - and they're thick and awesome. Most of the yorks go NUTS for her sticks - there is even a video of Tatum *crying* as she is trying her first (think it's her first time?) AMD bully, it's so freakin' cute! My problem (dang me)...is that I first (for a couple years) went w/ eddieb260 from eBay for my bullies and my steers (I don't think AMD was selling when I was first buying...?). Anyway, they are slightly more stinky and my dogs got used to that. So then when I tried AMD's, my dogs loved them at first, and then they wanted their old stinky ones again . Problem is, I personally think eddieb's chews became way (the last year or so) more stinky than they were before, so I think he has switched suppliers over time (?). SO...long explanation...I am making my dogs take a long break from bullies (using only CET chews right now) with the hope that when we go back to bullies, I can sneak them back to using AMD's Bullies ONLY, not eddieb's chews. (although, I will say his steer stix don't stink as bad, for the most part) Sorry for the long version....but it was sorta needed bc my guys aren't chewing bullies right now so it wouldn't be honest to say they were ....

Soooooooooooooo cute.... Now off to the shower, then work...I don't mind working, but I miss my babies |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | My precious didn't like the trachea, just a sniff and then boycot. This is what I have found about the bully sticks. I buy in bulk and when they are the freshest....they go more quickly. The older they get the longer they last. As for me, I like for them to be eaten up and gone in just a few days. I buy the 12" and cut to the size that gets them consumed in just a few days. Ya know, if you buy a bar of soap and keep it unwrapped for a while....it lasts forever in the bath. But is it fragrant that long? Nope! I would rather have one real ice cream cone a year than gallons of ice milk. |

| The longest lasting treat are elk or Deer antlers. A few companies make these, we have a bunch from Ziwi Peaks. Once you get a dog started on these, you'll save a ton of money in the long run, some times you might have to soak it in chicken broth to get them started. Then once they know they are suppose to chew it, it's a fantastic treat. Himalayians are great also - some dogs go through them fast, some take a while. The thickest bully stick, I ever seen have been the "Bravo Bully Sticks" they are 12 Inches long, but super thick. Out of stock on them currently, until wednesday. The free range ones are much thinner, but they are priced much cheaper, every time we get the small packages of 4 in, they are always sold out within a few days. If anyone wants to try wizzlers, from Merrick or the deer antlers. Use coupon code "YTpromo", which will make it 25% off, offer will expire Dec 15, 2008 or while supplies last. | Hey all!!! Alot of my friends are on this thread, how fun lol!!!! Mags--Snick uses Mooooo! Odorless Bully Sticks by Free Range Dog Chews. These rock so I'm sticking to em for now. No smell at all unless you stick it up your nose and inhale. Maybe after Ressie comes home in June I will start ordering from AMD by bulk. Right now I get them locally so it's too easy. Snick LOVES these but will only chew the lighter colored one. GO FIGURE, he is SO high maintanance. Bought the darker meat ones and he had a protest. Bon, and Bo---PLEASE let me know how the Himilayans are. I'm dying to try them and have found a site that sells my brand of bully's and the Himilayan but want feedback 1st. THANKS xoxox Holiday Huggies--- Snick & Viv
