Senior Yorkie Talker | Hair falling out!!! I have some questions! When bringing home a new puppy did anyone experiences their other dog's hair falling out? Let me explain... our family just relocated cross country due to Military orders. Tank (our 1 year old boxer) traveled with us, leaving behind his buddy Homer (a corgi). They were together since Tank was 8 weeks old. Homer stayed with us, (my sister in law with us at the time) and when we left Tank was very depressed. We finally got a house and picked up our new baby boy Ares! They get along fine! Tank allows the puppy to jump on him, play with toys, they even share Tank's living room blankie! But lately Tank's hair is falling out. I've brought him to the vet, he has all his shots, he get exercise everyday... I just don't know what's going on with him! I mean after baths the tub is covered! the couch from him sitting next to it (he's on the floor!) covered! He gets brushed, he is spoiled rotten! Any suggestions, and/or information would help! I tried looking on the web for more info... but it only says shedding due to stress. I've tried treats, extra love (which idk how to give him more!)... Thank you!

| Tank is a boxer, right? Boxers do shed. What is the temperature difference from where you were and where you relocated to? He could be blowing his coat from stress or differences in climate. What did your vet say? Unless it is leaving him virtually bald or hairless, I wouldn't worry about it too much considering your circumstance, but definitely keep an eye on it and follow your vet's advice. Oh, and when my dogs shed I love to give them warm soapy baths to help loosen up the hair and keep it off my furniture and floors. It is really amazing how much hair you find in the bath afterwards. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | The vet said it was just regular stress, that he should be fine in a month (2 weeks ago) Oh yes he's the boxer, but I tried the warm baths. Its gotten to the point where there's little spot of baldness everywhere on him, from afar you would never notice. I've tried taking him to doggy parks to play with larger dogs, but he needs to get fixed. I hope I didn't add to the stress buy adpoting Ares... Thank you for responding!

| It could be diet too. A good diet could help. I have a Bull terrier and she sheds, I give her salmon oil and she has been shedding less. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | I'm going to try adding the salmon oil! Ares (yorkie baby) is eating Earthborn puppy! Tank is crossing over from eukanuba to Earthborn... that may have something to do with it... Thank you!

| It sounds like Demedex (mites), which is definitely stress related. It will get better eventually unless it is a really bad case.
