I want to change the brand of puppy food that the breeder has my puppy on after I bring her home. I want the best for her and I really don't like what she is eating now. Any advice would be great.

I would like to ask the same thing! Yorky is eating now Royal Canin Junior. Considering that in my country i don't have a variety to choose from, i would like to advice me which is the best for my 4 months yorkie from these ones: Acana, Royal Canin, Hill's, Eukanuba.

I feed all my puppies AND adults Life's Abundance premium Health Food. They love it and its good FOR them.

I have always been happy feeling my dogs Pro Plan. I know several breeder and owners of show dogs/obedience/field dogs that use the various Pro Plan kibbles for their dogs dependent on their dogs' needs. Good luck with the new addition.

Jackson has always been very picky and he LOVES Nature's Variety Instinct.

Hi Britster, do they sell puppy food or just adult dog food? I did not see any on there site.

It's an all life stages food so it's approved for both puppies and adults.

If you can get Acana, I would strongly recommend that you try that! This is the food that my Harley eats and I think that right now it is considered one of the best options out there. Many people use Royal Canin and have luck with it, it just didn't work at our house. You will learn that unfortunatly there isn't an "it" food and what works well for someone else may not work well for you. Good luck!

Thank you very much for your answer. I already bought Acana and i gave him. I think my Yorky would eat anything!!! I gave him Acana, Pro Plan, Hill's and Royal Canin because i wanted to see how he behaves after. But he behaves very normal, i mean he has no problem with his stomach. Acana sounds good for me also, considering that i read a lot of good thinks about it. Which i cannot say about RC... After what i read here and after i saw the analyses i don't wanna feed him with this. In my country RC is saw as a super premium food, one of the best and i thought is the best for my puppy. But i'm happy i discovered this forum where i can learn so many things.

IMO Orijen is the best food your money can buy. Check out www.dogfoodanalysis.com- any food 5* or 6* will be a good choice for your puppy/dog.

I have my puppy on Royal Canin Puppy. It is what my vet recommends, and I haven't had any issues with it so far. They also have a specific 'Yorkie' type for when she is older.

When I brought her home she was in Purina Puppy Chow. There weren't any issues (slowly) switching her to the Royal Canin.
