| First Heat Kiki started her first heat today, she turns 1 on Dec. 16 . How normal is it for a Yorkie to wait this long for a 1 st heat? Also she has been sleeping on in off all day. She did not want to go outside at all . Has anybody else's little girl acted like this. My Boston's heat never affected her in anyway . Any input . I know my girl is very sensitive to things if I could I would have given her something for the pain she just looked so pitiful .

| I always think of it as my own, when my monthly friend comes to visit, some months are different than others, so for her to be tired it is normal. She may not be that way on her second heat. All my girls are different when their season is here. I think she is right on schedule for her first heat. My Gracie came in about the same time for her first and my Abby was nine months. Just give her lots of love, like I am sure you do.

| They are all sooo different! Some get super moody and others you would never guess that they were in heat at all. Some keep themselves very clean while others do not. Many don't come into heat until a year and one of my girls waited until 16 months - the youngest I have had came in at around 9 months.

| Not to worry. I've had girls with their first season at 16 months, others at 14. Some come in at 8. After the first they become pretty consistent at around every 8 months. Yep! Yorkie girls are pretty moody and wierd when in Heat. I've only had one that she it never affects her.

| I have a girl going on 3 years old and she has only been in heat once. Please be comforted in knowing it is not "abnormal". It should occur once every 6 months after this if she is steady.
