| Help, need diagnosis, vet cannot figure it out. I have a 7 yr old, 5 lb Yorkie who all of a sudden started spinning on her butt and yelping. She will just jump up and start whining and spinning (not scooting) her butt. When this happens her tail goes over to the side and stays there and she does circles while she whines...I have had her to 2 vets and emergency and they cannot figure it out! It is very spuratic, no pattern to it, sometimes a few episodes a day, sometimes one that might be 5 min or one may be 1/2 hr. They have all checked for obvious....worms, anal sack etc. They have done upper and lower GI's, repeated xrays, bloodwork, we have changed food, antibiotics, now treating for possible neuroligical instead of digestive....it is driving me crazy! Has anyone else ever had this happen or have any ideas??? |

| I'm sorry she and your family is going through this. I've never seen this, but sounds like you've tried all I would have suggested. I guess neurological is next, as you've stated. Does it happen to be associated with any heartworm meds? I've heard of some crazy stuff associated with Inteceptor. |

| Thanks for your reply! No she was on no medication at all. It started after her rabies shot which would be the logical answer but I have had 3 vets say that would have stopped after a day or two if that was it....it has been 3 weeks now! I still think it had something to do with that but they all say no its something else. I am also wondering if it could be psychological...... |

| Ann, do you remember the member who is part of the group against vaccinations? I believe they have a website but I can't find it...they also might be able to help her.

| Could it be a foxtail up there? We get them here and this last summer I saw just the tip of one that had already entered Maggie's anus. I was really glad I looked in time to get it out (she was scooting and moaning a little).

This person is good too....not sure if she would have the access to your pet that Marla would, but may be able to gain some insight, and is more affordable: Services

| Thats a great idea.....I asked the vet about something there and he said you would be able to see it in an xray, not sure if you could see a foxtail or not...I will ask him! |

I can tell you more after next weekend as I should know her much more after that - I'm taking a small Reiki class from her (only 7 people in the class) for 2 full days...so I should get an even better sense of her after that...
