| medallions? What exactly are they? lol I have been getting my YT read on ALOT in the last couple days and I've been seeing this RV raw and medallion thing goin on. Let me just say, LuLu is intrigued! I read somewhere Wellness may cause alot more boogies and make them poop more. Major has MAJOR eyeboogies, he's a total poop machine, and it's the real STINKY poo! where can I buy it? how is it packaged? is it a medallion a package..? how do i know how much to give, and how many times? also, what age can I begin on RAW, as I will be getting my little girl Yola in a few weeks. thank you much!

| The brand name is Nature's Variety. They are small round patties of raw meat and vegatebles that are frozen. I found mine at a pet boutique but have not had any luck with them - Nick wouldn't eat it and Daisy is not tolerating them well. I bought the small bag which was $4.99 and had 12 medallions in it. They offer a 3 pound bag as well and it has 40 somthing in it. You just pull one out of the freezer, thaw it in the fridge and feed. A lot of people on here LOVE them - they come in lots of flavors. I believe they are all life stages so you can feed to puppies. Daisy is 7 weeks and she didn't do well on them, though. I think you can do an entire raw diet but my plan was to feed one medallion for breakfast and let them have kibble the rest of the day. There are feeding guidlines on the package but they are vauge. If you go to the nature's variety website, I think they have a "where to buy" link that will show the closest retailer to you. Good Luck! Oh, by the way, what food are you on that causes eys boogers? We are looking to switch and I'd like all the info I can get on different foods! |

| I've heard that about Wellness, also. I got some samples but neither one of my pups would touch it. Oh well...thanks for letting me know. |

| A lot of YT members, me included, feed Nature's Variety (NV) raw medallions. They are a healthy, balanced diet that a lot of dogs love. You can start feeding them at any age - I started mine on them as young puppies and they did great. The medallions weigh 1 oz each and are about 1" around. I buy mine in 3lb bags, but you can get sample size bags that have only 12 medallions in it. And, you can buy different meats like chicken, lamb, venison, beef, etc. There are other good brands of pre-made raw, too (Primal, for example). I choose to feed NV because it's the only brand of raw sold locally, and because I like the quality of NV's foods, and because my babies absolutely love it. I buy my NV raw at a local feed/ag supply store, but there's a pet boutique in town that also carries it. You can order NV raw online but the prices and shipping are outrageous. If you go to the NV website it will give you a list of their retailers and locations. They also have a feeding guide that tells you how much raw to feed based on age, size & activity levels. I have never fed Wellness but I believe it's a good brand of food. Like any other brand, some dogs are going to do well on it and some aren't. You just have to find one that works for you and your baby. I hope this answers most of your questions. Good luck!
