Are there poops hard and easy to pick up? I think I am going to switch him over to Orijen right now he is on NB Potato And Duck Last edited by polomysweetpup; 10-03-2009 at 03:03 PM. |

| I don't feed it but I might try it if you say yours liked it. I have a VERY picky eater. Right now he is on Nutro Ultra but I've seen that some people say it is not a good quality product. Of course I want to feed Nick and Daisy the best so I've been requesting samples of premium foods. So far I have a sample of Wellness and have requested one from Blue Buffalo and Solid Gold. I hope he likes something better for him than Nutro... Anyway, sorry I couldn't help but thanks for letting me know Orijen tastes good!! |

| We use Orijen. Eva likes it too but we have had some trouble with it. I started a thread about it a while back. Here is my original post. Eva switched to Orijen puppy and it was great. We bought a trial size bag first. She had firm dark links, clean bum, awesome. So we bought the next size up same variety. Within 2 days, she had soft serve and some even runnier. Went to the vet to run another parasite test(she had had Giardia 3weeks prior) I figured since we didn't change the food it wasn't that. Parasite test was fine so vet put her on acute care paste to replace her flora in case the antibiotics messed her up(the paste didn't help if anything it got worse). So I decided to check the ingredients on both bags of food, the trial size and the medium size. OMG they are different. The trial size had some corn half way down the list and no pumpkin, the Medium bag had no corn and did have pumkin instead. WHAT??? I go back to the store and check the bags, the trial size and the large bags are the same, the medium are different. Ok, bought another trial size(just in case) and a large size bag, both with the original ingrediants of corn and no pumpkin. I put her right back fully on the new trial bag and the next day her perfect little links were back. I have yet to open the large bag but the ingredients are the same so we'll see. Once I realized, I checked the kibble carefully and the trial size were slightly darker and slightly smaller than the medium size. They also smelled slightly different. Separately I wouldn't have been sure there was a difference. So, emailed the company with all this about 4 days ago but have not heard back(figures). So now with any food when buying a larger size of the SAME flippin thing, I will read every single ingredient. Someone did finally call me, then they sent me a bunch of samples to try of Acana their other food. They told me that they did change the meat amounts as well as adding pumpkin. It made the food richer. Eva doesn't like it as much and it is runny poop every time I try the new recipe. So she is on old trial bags as I switch her to something else.Hope you have better luck with it.

| We do we do, and Pinky loves it! She used to eat Royale Canine, but then just randomly stopped and would run away if we tried to feed her! Then, we switch to Orijen after having had to travel over the border since you can't buy it in our "stucks in the 80s" country |

| Oh yes forgot to mention Eva has had terrible eye goopies while on this food. Big sticky ones everyday. We'll see what happens when I get her fully off of it. Starting the switch over tomorrow.

| I feed raw but supplement with kibble. I've used Evo but her eye boogers were awful! I also tried Wellness core but she turned into a pooping machine. About 3 months ago I switched to the Orijen 6 Fish Food and I LOVE it! Almost NO eye boogers...she goes just twice a day and her coat is beautiful! No more itching! 6 Fish Dog |

| I am currently in the process of switching Harley to Acana which is made by Orijen. I am sticking with the grain free versions. They are just a little lower in protein and fat than the Orijen. I have started the process with the Prarie Harvest since it is chicken based and Harley is currently on a chicken based kibble. We are only at 25%, but so far so good. No tummy issues and Harley devours the Acana kibble before he will touch the other! There are alot of people on this board who speak very highly of Orijen, hope that your transition is a success. | I have some questions how long do I mix his old food with the new food? how many weeks until he is on 100% Orijen? Right now I have been mixing less of the new and more of the old and he seems to be doing really well Every time I put down the kibble he devours the Orijen and leaves the NB Potato and Duck. I have notice his coat is really soft and shinny. And he seems to have more energy and he will do tricks for this kibble I set up a little agility course and a I get an Orijen kibble out, and he will go through the entire course just to get a kibble |

| My girls have been on Orijen for over 2 years, i had to switch (mix) recently cause the kibble is too soft and yummy for them so they eat too much and sort of forgot to chew lol I am giving them innova evo reduced fat now mixed with the orijen. My vet said is is fine to give mixed kibbles, so that is what i am doing I think you can slowly stitch in 2 weeks (slowly -daily- increasing new kibble and decreasing the other one), if you’re going to take the old kibble out
