| I wouldn't - too much fat for our little ones. There are tons of natural treats out there (like freeze dried liver) that would be a better choice, I think. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I can tell you I did, and Joey gained too much weight! We enrolled in a tricks training class a few years ago, and you learn 2 new tricks a week. To keep them interested in training you have to keep on upping the food value, and cheese is the only thing that interested him in the later weeks. I have since learned that if you are going to do lots of training to use their regular food as treats, and when they are hungry they will work for nutritious food, if they aren't that hungry, you have to tempt them to perform with food that's very fattening. Other good treats are thawed frozen green beans, and tiny bits of boiled chicken breasts. It's not how much you give them, it's the fact they are getting any that keeps them working. I still use string cheese to wrap around Joey's heartworm pills, you can warm the cheese and put a thin layer on pill and let it cool, and he eats the whole pill down, instead of eating off the cheese.
