We have one of those slow feeder bowls for Cosmo as he just enhales his food. I guess I don' mind so much as picky Miss Izzy I have to beg and pray that she eats each meal. She has pancreatitis/SIBO/IBD and when she doesn't eat that's not good. Plus she is tiny.

So what I say be very thankful that you have dogs that want to eat like Cosmo!! I also have them both sit and stay before getting their food and use our release word but he still goes to town on his food.

I've heard that some dogs get bloat so bad they can die from eating so fast and these bowls were supposed to help. If you watch the video it only slows them down by 10-30 seconds or so from not using the special bowl but they say that's enough to help with not getting bloat.

I'm just thankful this dog LOVES his food vs. picky Izzy.

i have a picky dog too; and i have to revolve my whole day around her so she can eat;
what are you feeing izzy by the way.
i am currently feed the honest kitchen; but someone has recommended Nature's Variety Raw Medallions and i am doing some reading about it; it seems interesting; but i am not sure if i should switch or if it will be safe for my dog; since she has severe gastritis and she gets upset stomach easily.
any advice anyone?

You can place a rubber ball in the middle of her food bowl -- the ball moves around and stops her from gobbling up her food.

I am going to try putting something in her bowl, although I have my doubts. She usually dives at her bowl so hard it turns over, the food goes everywhere. She eats in her crate and food gets all in her blaket, she digs like mad to eat each piece. I dont know... THanks for all the suggestions, I am always open to suggestions.

I am fostering a puppy who does this. I bought the Brake-Fast bowl after a rescue buddy of mine suggested it. It is wonderful! I had tried a ball in the bowl and she just took it out and started snorting her food again!
I bought mine from a person on Ebay...very reasonable compared to the prices I found online....and shipping was included:

I just checked out the brake fast bowl, I ordered one to try for Jada. It looks like this would do the trick.I have to do something as she threw up again after eating supper last night. It was whole pieces of green beans and her kibble so she didn't even chew her food just swallowed it whole..this is just too scary.I got mine from amazon 14.99 and no shipping.

We used the brake fast bowl last night and this morning. Guess what it works!!!!For the first time Bogie finished his food at least 2 min before Jada and he's a slow eater.I can't believe this works.AWESOME!!!
