| Alergic To Poultry.... Well I just discovered that sami is allergic to poultry... all his 4 years of loving him and buying products to relive his itching, booger eyes etc.. I have been feeding him all chicken products. when he had the ear infection and became sicker with the added immunization shots, I started cooking boiled chicken and rice due to him throwing up just about two days! and I had noticed that he was really being bothered by scratching more than usual, so I stoped giving him chicken and purchased duck & potato and within a few days he wasn't up all night scratching! which I thought wow it's the chicken throughout the week of him not eating any chicken, his itching was very mimumal to normal. well yesterday I had made a turkey roll had finished eating and offered the remaining piece of turkey to sami not even considering chicken/turkey connection... last night he was up scratching as he had done before! and I then realized "that's it" sami is allergic to poultry! not officially diagnosed from the vet but through my own observance! so Now I will avoid giving him any poultry continue the duck & potato along with his salmon treats and hope that his allergy problem is over maybe you can see try and remove poultry from your baby's diet and see if you notice any difference of limited itching and scratching? couldn't hurt.. well I will post an update if this therory is working or not!

| Nothing to add to this thread except it just amazes me how we stumble across these allergies...So glad you found the culprit, and glad there are so many other options to choose from...How strange one dog is allergic to something and another isn't...Mind boggling |

| My Bichon has horrible allergies. We went grain free about a year 1/2 ago and did not see much improvement at first be we were feeding Natures variety duck, then we switched to a grain free chicken.....once we switched to Pork, Venison, Buffalo (tast of the wild is our favorite) it made a HUGE difference. Can not beleive how much difference the correct food can make!

but thanks for the tip! I'll stop that as well! I have learned so much from all of you! by the way what are obd? sami could possibly have other allergies but what a difference from removing him from chicken? hopefully this was a easy remedy although it took his 4 years for me to wake up and think what about the chicken? gosh I feel for all the babies with environmental allergies how do they check for allergies, I never had him tested I just kept changing foods shampoos etc...
