| ![]() Callie went to the vet today to get a few shots and her skin rechecked and the vet told me she was 2.5 pounds overweight but if you look at her she isnt fat honestly! She is a bigger yorkie who's weight was 15.8 pounds at the vets today. But she has long legs and is really long and I'm not sure they account for that well. My mom told me not to worry to much about it because 15 pounds is the weight she normaly is at and stays at and that the vet is getting the weight off of a chart that dosent account for how her individual body is. How do they know what the right weigh is supposed to be? And do you think my mom is right?

| ![]() The first vet I took Ryder too told me he was overweight at 4 months! I picked him up and took him to a vet asap to make sure he was healthy- well they said because he is a yorkie he needs to be 7lbs or under and obviously he is bigger and for all I know (not AKC reg) could be mixed. So for him 8-10lbs is what he is. I wouldnt worry about it if she is on a good quality food, but if you are I would just not free feed and measure out her food for her suggested weight and age daily intake. Good luck.
