| My dog is too skinny Any tips on how to fatten up my dog would be much appreciated. He's not sick, just very picky and will go hungry rather than eat something he doesn't want to.... He doesn't even like Nutrical........ He will like a certain dog food for a short time but grows tired of it... I was feeding him pieces of things I ate because i felt sorry for him, but have completely stopped and he will just stare at me when I eat now...... He's a very active and healthy dog. But really needs fatten up...... Please help!! Thanks |

| Try not to feed him people food, or he won't eat his kibble. Lol My Mimi girl was very finicky. She would eat the kibble only if i mixed something yummy, like plain boiled chicken, plain salmon, plain scrambled eggs, I've tried many things that's ok for her to eat, trying to entice her to eat. Then she would only pick & eat the yummy things & not touch her kibble! I've also tried numerous different premium kibble, which btw you can ask for samples. Just go to the sticky in the health & diet section, they have a list. The only kibble she likes & still likes is Natural Balance Sweet Potato & Venison. Although I still have to mix in something, she's still eating it. Some dogs are genetically built thin, if the vet says he's healthy, I wouldn't worry too much about his weight. What did the vet say? Good Luck & I hope you'll find the one he'll like.

| Try acana Quote:
My little girl was like that (she is 3 years old today). We had her spayed in January and I found that really helped. But we also switched to ACANA a few months ago and she really likes it! | |

| Spaying helped with her appetite? Actually I've heard of that before. My friend's mom's yorkie got really fat after being fixed (she was 3 yo when she was fixed and had had 2 litters of babies). |

| Sugar is the exact same way! If I don't mix in yogurt (homemade no less ) and chicken....kibble is a no go ~ usually is still left in the bowl anyways

| Thanks so much for alll the tips..... As far as the mixing of wet and dry go..... tied it... He doesn't even care to much for most wet foods.... I'm going to give the raw diet thing a try.. I got a recipe that i'm thinking he will like... Fingers crossed.... I'm excited to see him with some fat on his belly. He's already so cute, but his skinniness just doesn't look right... . I'm leaving in about 5 minutes to go do my regular weekly grocery shopping and will be picking everything up then and give it a try starting tonight... I hope he enjoys it enough to scarf down. hee hee. I'll keep this thread posted. Enjoy your holiday weekend this weekend all!! Be safe! |

| Can somebody recommend a kibble that Reesie won't refuse to eat? I've tried almost everything that was posted months ago, the store was great about giving me sample packs so we could try her on different things to see what she liked. This isn't a restaurant and I'd like to not have to cook something special. She will only eat chicken flavored Caesar, but I know she needs to chomp on something crunchy to help keep her teeth clean. For anna xrisoxou, gosh, I've seen, or heard of Yorkies from 3 to 7 pounds. That's what you meant by ibs, right? |
