| Eye Gunk and RAW Mr. Darcy had several days with a couple of sneezes last week. Then came the green sticky gunk in his eyes each morning. Neurotic mother, I called and scheduled with his vet, whom we visit at 2:30 today. I pulled out my Reigning Cats and Dogs book, 173 pages written by a holistic vet named Pat McKay. She advised changing Mr. Darcy's water to distilled, and putting drops of Colloidal Silver in the eyes. It is considered an antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal agent. Within 2 days the eye gunk was gone. McKay supports raw meats and bones diet with much information backing her reasoning. I had kept McKennitt and Jack (my hearding dogs) on homemade Raw most of their lives. These boys were parasite free with glistening coats, healthy teeth, no odor poops and no doggie breath. When the imported dog food scare happened several years back, I was certain I'd chosen the best diet path for them. I am going to slowly convert Mr. Darcy especially after revisiting McKay's book last week. I'll keep Orijen on the side as he still nibbles at it. Hope this bit of info is helpful to some of you Yorkie parents out there.

YT Addict | i browsed through your thread and i seen you put colloidal silver in your dogs eyes. is it ok to put any brand of colloidal silver in. i was going to use it for my Maltese for her tear stains but i got the colloidal silver from a human health food store and on the bottle it says do not put in the eyes so im not clear on that. I dont want to hurt her. is it ok or not thanks don't mean to change the subject on here. |

| Eye gunk contd. I took Mr. Darcy to his vet this afternoon, showed him McKay's book, which he knew of, and told him about using the Colloidal Silver to clear Darcy's eyes (within 2 days of use.) He examined Darcy's eyes and said they loked very bright and infection free. He said Darcy might have had a slight allergy to hay or grasses, or a bit of a sinus infection. Stated that Mr. Darcy needed no prescribed meds. McCay's book states the following (page 138). "For the eyes and nose Colloidal Silver is an excellent antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal agent. Use a glass dropper and put several drops at a time directly into the nostrils or eyes." I think it's wise to connect with a trusted vet, nonetheless. I bought my silver at the local (for humans ) health store.
