I think prissy012899 is right. It sounds like tape worms to me too and you will probably have to treat all of your dogs. I would take her too the vet to be sure.

One of my girls got tapeworms from eating a squirrel.....ugh.....but it didn't look like that. It looks like little white grains of rice, which was around her butt and in her poop. It wasn't orange at all.

Thanks everyone.

She recently did poop and I looked at it and didnt see anything. Would they be in her poop as well? I have looked all day around her bottom and all and can't find anything on her.

I don't think it's tape worms cause Bitsy's had them before and they are WHITE. Is she scratching at all??? Have you checked her really good with a fine comb for fleas?? I've never seen flea dirt but maybe that's it.

I just bathed her today. I seen a flea on Daphne (my pom) yesturday and gave them both a bath today afterwards to be safe. I bathed them both in Dawn (as I heard it was good for fleas and so far not as much itching as she was doing.

I feel so bad and like such a bad mommy. I always thought that flea dirt was brown/black ??

If they had a significant amount of fleas when you gave them a bath you would've seen them in the bottom of the tub or sink, or at least I always have if any of our pets had fleas in the past. Plus they would be scratching a good bit. So if you didn't notice either of these I wouldn't worry too much aout fleas. Just keep an eye on her and see if you notice anything else for the next few days.

Oh and you're a good mommy, a bad mommy wouldn't have cared in the first place.

I have NO clue if it could have been that. She is only outside with us and with me and I watch her pretty closely but sometimes she does play a bit in the grass when we let her stay out for a while with us to play. So it could have been something in her skin.

I woke up this morning and looked around and see nothing. So maybe it was just something in her skin ??

Usually flea dirt is brown/black....when you moisten it does it turn like a reddish color? like blood ? Then it is flea dirt. I would say if you found a flear on your pom chances are that she has fleas. I would contact your vet and get some advantage for them.
