| Tick Bite My six month old german shepard mix got bit by a tick. I removed the body and the head. What signs should I be looking for to see if he's getting sick? It bit him right on his upper lip. Thanks.

| Do you know if you got the tick right away? It reduces the chances that anything was transmitted. If you are asking about Lyme disease. The major symptom is multiple leg lameness. Not all ticks carry it so odds are with you but I don't blame you for being concerned either.... |

My furkids Donating Member | my vet told me if you get the tick out within the first 24 hours the chances of lyme disease are slight. the longer the tick is in the more likely he would be to have a reaction...if the tick was infected with a disease.
