| Yorkie newbie...too many food choices!! Hello all, I am new to YT and to yorkies in general. I just rec'd my 2 new best friends last week from my mother in law that didn't have enough time for them. They are 8 mos. old brothers, Jack and Andy and are a blast. Andy is bigger, maybe 7-8lbs and Jack was the runt of the litter, maybe 4-5lbs now. Trying to find a good food for them since they aren't really excited eaters. They have been eating By Nature and seem less than excited. I saw many posts about Canidae(and the newer formula concerns) but thinking of giving it a try. I keep salt water reef aquariums "so im used to the trial and error" but any other input would be great. Love the site, and looking forward to learning more about my new best friends needs. | Hello and welcome to YT!! I feed my baby Taste of the Wild. He is very picky and he absolutely LOVES it! It is rated very good if you look at its ratings. I guess the only reason it would matter if they eat out of seperate bowls is so you know how much each of them is eating. Good luck with your new babies!

| I'm feeding Wellness Super 5 Mix for Small Breeds. Was feeding Wellness Simple Solution because one of mine has severe allergies but was having trouble getting one of my picky eaters to eat it. Was doctoring it up in all sorts of ways to get her to eat it. Now that I switched my other 3 to Wellness Super 5 Mix she is eating with gusto.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I feed raw - either a local brand called Suzy's or I feed pre-made Primal...and I think I'm going to try Stella and Chewy's soon.

| Right now I'm using Innova Evo for Sasha and she really seems to be enjoying it. I'm thinking about also trying Taste of the Wild once this bag is gone, but that won't be for awhile. Welcome to YT! |

| Welcome to YT!! There's no need for your two babies to have their own bowl, since they share without fighting. If you're wanting to switch them to another food, I'd recommend getting some samples first to see if your babies like it. You can contact the company to see if they offer free samples; otherwise some pet stores carry samples that are cheap or sometimes free. If you're interested in Canidae, I'd recommend their grain-free ALS forumula. (Canidae) Orijen is a food I'd highly recommend (www.Orijen.ca) TOTW is a good food which seems to be a tasty hit. (Taste of the Wild : Home) EVO (Evo Pet) and Instinct (Nature's Variety) are also great foods. Hope that helps. |
