My poor baby! Please help! Hi, I am a new puppy owner. He's not a Yorkie, but a Silky Terrier. They are very similar. My issue is following: I have had him for 2.5wks now. He is almost 10wks old now. The breeder gave me some kibble, and i used it to switch him over to Halo Spot's Stew (salmon one). Now, he is totally on the Halo. He has been having some soft stool (not diarrhea). It looks like pancake batter. When he squats to poo, sometimes, he makes a farting sound, and it just gushes out (like when hes pushing). I have taken 2 stool samples to the vet. He was fine. The vet put him on Metronidazole twice a day for 7 days. It didnt seem to help either. I gave him some pupmkin last night with dinner, and his morning poo was a bit firmer at the start, but went a bit soft towards the end of the poo. I gave him some pumpkin with breakfast also. He is a perfectly playful puppy. I don't know what else to do! Any help is appreciated! p.s - sorry to get so graphic with the poo, but just want to give you all as much info as i could!

sounds like the salmon is too rich for him if the metronidazole is not helping it is not a bacteria infection --i would recommend getting him back on the food that was working -- if it is not broke do not fix it as many times you can borrow more trouble

hi guys! Just wanted to post an update! I went and got him his old kibble last night. And this morning, his poo was firm! i was able to pick it up with a paper towel! It left no mess, no streaks! So funny that a firm poo makes my day today! haha I'm still wondering if this was b/c of the food switch or the pumpkin for 2 days ago. Fingers crossed! Thanks for your help!
