| Signs of a UTI??? Can someone tell me some of the signs of a UTI? Since Roxy's accident she holds her pee for a LONG time (like 3 hours or better) and then will pee wherever she is. Sometimes its her blanket, sometimes the floor, sometimes it is a lot, sometimes a little. She poops on her pad but cant seem to do that with her pee pee. She seemed to pee laying down this morning and then gave me sad eyes.

| There can be tons of symptoms or none that the owner notices. Some could include: Peeing more Peeing in small amounts Peeing where they know not to Excessive drinking ETC, ETC, ETC. If you have any reason to believe that she has a UTI, she needs a urinalysis.

| Oh poor baby. London is going through the same thing right now (possible UTI, possible stones). Frequent/urgent urination can be a symptom of many conditions that need quick treatment...so please do take a pee pee sample to the vet asap. Good news is the urinalysis is pretty cheap. London's was $33. The fresher the urine sample, the better. It was easy to collect London's urine sample by turning her pee pad upside down (so the pee pooled on the plastic side and I poured it into a ziplock bag). If the vet is closed when you collect your sample, you can store it in the frig. Not exactly what you asked, but thought it might help. Keep us posted! |

| Another YT member suggested to me that Hot Rod may have had a uti and he did. He peed on the laundry room floor on 2 different mornings. He's so very good about using his pad so that was extremely out of the ordinary for him. Good luck. Just remember that you will have to collect a sample prior and then after meds. I just watched him and stuck a plastic lid with a lip on it under him when he lifted his little leg on his pad. Then I had to do it outside the vets office in the parking lot as they couldn't get him to go and I really didn't want them to have to extract it from him. I am sure that I look really, really silly! lol. I hope that your baby is okay.

| Urinary Track Infection (UTI) Seems to me if a yorkie had a UTI and it was very bad the urine may have blood in it. I took my yorkie's temp with a sensor for humans once. Typically a dog's temp is 100 to 102 degrees. Mine was 105 degrees. I ran the sensor down his belly into his groin. I took him to the Emergency room right away. |
