flaky skin Hi, I just had this problem with my puppy. I bought Salmon oil from Pet co and my vet recommended Tropiclean Oxy med oatmeal shampoo and also the rinse. You can also buy this at Petco. Expensive but well worth it! Follow the directions and leave both shampoo & rinse on for at least 3 minutes each. Make sure to rinse her well! His skin problem is now gone. After baths sometimes they'll be a little flaky because you washing off the skin that doesn't come off much like other dogs. Puppies usually have more dry skin also. That's what my vet told me. Good luck.:aimeeyork |
Also don't forget to get them good high quality food. Natural or Holistic. I used Merrick Puppy Plate. 6 lb bags last a while. He came oringinally with Purina Pro Plan. Donot buy Super Maket brands. It's filled with by products and artificial stuff! |

It all depends on the dog. It worked for my dog who had it very bad. I had oroginally went to a vet I didn't care for as they gave me no solution. then I found one very close to me. He has 2 yorkies and a grey hound, so I felt he knows especially since he owns 2. Just giving her advice.:animal-pa |
I definitely agree with the Apple Cider Vinegar use! Its really good. Also..for bath time you can use an oatmeal conditioner...its a good soothing conditioner. If its mites it could be Demodex which I battled with on Gizmo but our vet had us use Promeris and it is clearing up very well!! |
